At the age of 20, Ben began his DJ career in Alcudia, Majorca. The Prince of Wales was a party bar giving Ben the opportunity to compere and DJ to young crowds. With his skills as a DJ clearly showing, he moved to "Bells" as their Resident DJ, and enjoyed the change to then focus on Garage music. With tourism in Majorca only being seasonal, the end of September was the perfect time to move on to Tenerife, which provided the perfect new location, being an all year tourist destination and having a thriving garage scene.
 
Landing in Tenerife, Ben found the nearest Garage Bar and immediately applied for a residency. "Kristy’s" was THE Garage bar in Tenerife, and during his residency, Ben worked alongside the influential Darren B and quickly developed his eclectic sound of merging Garage, Drum n Bass and RnB.
 
Bens style and skills were quickly noticed by the large club owners on the island, and this resulted in his first residency in one of Tenerife’s Super clubs, Rags. This enabled Ben to broaden his music sounds from Rnb, House, garage to Drum n Bass. This residency also gave Ben the chance to become more competent on the microphone and he was quickly offered a residency in the major party bar on the island.
 
"Yates" was famous for its party games and would have a full house every night of the week. Ben flourished in this environment making "Yates" one of the most popular locations for Hens and Stags. His ability to judge the crowd was unmatched on the island, and he was able to enjoy both his residency in Yates and then move on to his late night residency in Rags.
 
As the House music scene started to evolve in Tenerife, so Ben adapted and introduced house music to Rags. His innovation quickly got him noticed by the owner of the now famous Monkey Beach Club. The fashionable  upmarket beach club was a breathe of fresh air and they wanted a DJ to reflect that they were at the fore front of parties and music.
      Ben gained the residency for their famous Monkey Beach Sundays and with the opportunity to play to a Spanish crowd and really spread his musical wings, Ben started to discover his own style, blending House Music with loops and accapellas.  He relished playing upfront house music and worked alongside the likes of David Penn, Taito Takaro and Fierce Angels, to name but a few.
 
After a successful 3 years at Rags, Ben was approached by the super-club in Tenerife, "Tramps". Ben helped them to evolve their 400 capacity terrace, to play upfront house music. His residency at "Tramps" included playing to a younger, vibrant House crowd and firmly established Ben as one of the top House DJs in Tenerife.
 
In spring of 2008, The World Famous Linekers group were keen for Ben to work with them and relocated Ben over to Marbella. Linekers Marbella was the largest in the world and renowned for its cheesy and commercial music and the group wanted to change the style and quality of the bar. Ben quickly set to task to reinvent Linekers into a cool bar to rival the sophisticated Marbella scene. His knowledge and expertise were clearly shown and he assisted the group in opening TIBU Marbella.
 
This ground breaking new club is one of the Leading 100 Clubs and whilst playing at TIBU Marbella he was noticed by Sintillate, who gave him a weekly residency every Friday at Marbellas club, "Dreamers". This was a strictly Upfront House Music Club and Ben then used his initiative to create TIBU After Dark by organising the singers, percussionists, and other musicians to play live with him. Marbella enabled Ben to play alongside  MC Kie, Colin Francis, Lee Cabrera, to play at Champagne Sprays at Ocean club as well as  guest spots at Budda Beach, Nikki Beach, Pangea, Mansion, Glam and  Kinky Malinki
 
After his outstanding success in Marbella, TIBU Marbella wanted to use Ben's expertise to open TIBU Tenerife.  As Musical Director and Resident DJ for TIBU Tenerife, Ben's role included the organization of all DJ´s, Vocalist's Saxophonist, Dancers, percussion and all musicals aspects of the events. Each night at TIBU Tenerife was a full package event, and Ben thrived on arranging all aspects of these events. From being involved in the poster designs, to arranging Harleys to drive through the club with vocalists on the back, to runways being erected for fashions shows, to working with the lighting technician for stunning events. 
 
During this time, Sintillate also hosted nights with TIBU Tenerife, and because of Ben’s experience, Sintillate utilized Ben to run their events. This challenged Ben to look for pre-party venues, organize PAs from UK celebrities and book international DJs. Sintillate events included the likes of Dane Bowers, Brandon Block and the Stars of Big Brother. 

During his residency at TIBU Tenerife, Ben played for FUNKY BUDDA alongside Rob Tissera and for DEFECTED alongside Danisun. 

 

AUDIO KARTEL

 
On the opening night of TIBU Tenerife, Ben met Sam Saxo and quickly an amazing partnership was formed. From 2 completely different backgrounds Audio Kartel was born, with Sam Saxos background in soul music and Bens House Music roots. Immediately they saw the potential they had together and went straight in to the studio, producing remakes of classic saxophone tracks to then be used in TIBU Tenerife. Audio Kartel released all their tracks and re-edits on TIBU Tenerifes first compilation album in 2010. This album was a success and due to the positive feedback received, Audio Kartel were in huge demand. They were flown to TIBU Marbella to show the team there how to work in a similar style, they travelled around the Canary Islands showcasing Audio Kartel and the TIBU brand. Remakes of "Man with the Red Face", "Careless Whisper", "7 Nation Army" and "Tell Me Why" have been significant hits for Audio Kartel

 

 
PAPAGAYO BEACH CLUB

In 2012, a phenomenal new Beach Club/Nightclub opened. With a staggering investment in design and equipment, the owners only wanted the best and the most cutting edge in “Papagayo Beach Club”. Ben accepted the residency without hesitation, ready to reinvent the nightclub industry on the island. "Papagayo" fever soon spread quickly, enjoying each night with a varied style of house music. The response was astounding and the directors quickly recognised Ben´s skills for not only Djing but for his passion for music. They took this opportunity to make Ben responsible for all the sound and light equipment, and every aspect of the DJ Booth. This then increased to also organising the DJ roots, bookings of live acts & DJs, sound engineering for the visiting artists including a 6 piece band, individual artists and a live flamenco show.

Papagayo Beach Club has grown from strength to strength, enjoying booking some of the worlds most renowned Djs and artists. In the last 6 months alone Ben has played alongside, Roger Sanchez, Uner, David Penn, Nick Curly & Dosem, just to name a few. This summer, Ben will be playing with Sasha, Danny Tagnalia, Groove Armarda, Nic Fanciulli, Cuyo and many more.

Musically, Ben has grown and adapted to keep his music fresh and exciting. Playing across the spectrum of house music, with his speciality being Tech House and Techno, he adds his own flavour by merging live elements to his set.

 

JUNE STUDIOS

Over a year ago, Ben opened his own recording studio and is in the middle of starting his own record label in Tenerife. This is so he can nurture the talent here in Tenerife as well as moving Audio Kartel into the future. The Studio is a big part of his life and allows him to channel his ideas into a tangible reality as well as practising and perfecting new ideas for his live sets. 

 

Now starting in the new year of 2015 Ben has opened the first english speaking Dj school.

The largest English Radio Station in Tenerife wanted a fresh, up to date and a knowledgeable DJ for their Saturday night show and Ben agreed to do the show.
